🇬🇮 Gibraltar – Where Britain Meets the Mediterranean

Gibraltar is a small but fascinating destination located at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. Despite its size, it offers a unique blend of British culture and Mediterranean atmosphere that you won’t find anywhere else in Europe.

Overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar, this historic territory sits between Spain and the coast of Morocco, making it one of the most geographically interesting places to visit in southern Europe.

Walking through Gibraltar feels like stepping into a mix of cultures — British pubs sit alongside sunny plazas, while narrow streets lead to viewpoints overlooking both Europe and Africa.

What Makes Gibraltar Unique

One of the most interesting aspects of Gibraltar is its blend of cultures and influences. As a British Overseas Territory located next to Spain, you’ll notice a combination of British traditions, Spanish lifestyle, and Mediterranean scenery.

English is widely spoken, British currency is used, and red telephone boxes and traditional pubs can be found throughout the town.

At the same time, the warm climate, coastal views, and relaxed pace of life give Gibraltar a distinctly Mediterranean feel.

Planning Your Trip

Gibraltar is an easy destination to add when travelling through southern Spain or exploring the wider Mediterranean region.

When planning my trips, I personally like to compare flights and accommodation in one place.
